Process

The development of Nourishfy followed a user-centred design process, combining user research with competitor analysis. By analysing existing nutrition and meal-planning apps, I identified common strengths, such as meal recommendations, but also weaknesses including limited personalisation and overlooking different nutritional needs.

RESEARCH IMPACT

My research had a clear impact on Nourishfy's final design. Competitor analysis showed that many existing apps focus on individual users rather than families and provide little guidance on meeting specific vitamin requirements. This led me to create a profile system that supports multiple family members, with profile icons consistently displayed alongside meals and throughout the user journey to reinforce each person's nutritional goals.

Process

The development of Recallr was driven by a user-centred design process, beginning with in-depth user insight interviews with individuals who have family members living with Alzheimer’s. Alongside this, I conducted a competitor analysis of existing memory and health apps. This involved evaluating their strengths and weaknesses.

research impact

My research had a clear impact on Recallr's final design. Through interviews with people who have family members with Alzheimer’s and looking at existing apps, I found that most tools focus on basic reminders but lack motivation and meaningful engagement.

This led me to focus on helping users stay consistent and see their progress. Recallr includes a stats page that shows activity over time, encouraging continued use and highlighting small wins.

outcome

The final prototype successfully recommends nutritious meals for each user, choosing meals that are appropriate for the family's size to meet their energy requirements. Nourishfy’s profile setup creates a personalised yet simple experience, allowing users to manage multiple family members without adding complexity.
